I am a dry riverbed
In a barren land
I need rain
But my lips stay silent
A deep rumble beckons rain clouds closer
But they hang back
Waiting
I look around
And see that the barren land isn’t barren at all
Like a mirage evaporating
I now see that I am a dry riverbed in a lush oasis
A drop of water falls from the sky
I see vibrant flowers
And flowing waterfalls
The rain intensifies
All that I need, God has given me
I am blessed in breathtaking abundance
A sweet downpour pours out from the heavens
Flooding my parched life
The dirt of my riverbed is dry
Soften it with your rainstorm of gratitude
And make my soil fertile for Your kingdom.
