Dear God
I am weary from sin
Tired of falling
And crawling back up the hill
This apple I’ve eaten has left a bitter taste in my mouth
It’s skin was shiny, vibrant red
Baiting my bite into its flowery, worm-filled core
I want again now what I too quickly gave up
Intimacy with You
Now that I’ve tasted it
Nothing else will satisfy me
I need it God!
Like a thirsty beggar in the desert I need it
Let me once again be found and filled by You.
